I love to write.
Since the age of seven I have been keeping journals and writing down my hopes and dreams, thoughts and feelings.
Beginning an online journal is something that I have wanted to do for a long time now, but I allowed fear to hold me back from putting the idea into action. You see, to have this kind of a blog, I need to be vulnerable every day, and vulnerability can be terrifying.
I was also scared that I would run out of things to say, that it would turn out to be something that was more of a mess then something that can be used to bring hope and change in people's lives.
The title of this blog is "Awakening My Heart" because that is what God is doing to me through writing. Every time I pick up a pen, or type words on a screen I find out more about myself, who God is and who He wants me to be.
So even if no one reads it. Even if it does become a mess, I know that it will bring an awakening in my life. I know that I will benefit by being willing to be used, saying "yes" even though it scares me.
So, I write.
